as a competition swimmer since the 50's and scuba diver since the 60's i think you're right about the marlin name eliciting certain self-images, but i used an analog timex expedition for my lifeguard and first aid duties for the ease of reading, accuracy, has a second hand, size and comfort, and the indiglo feature came in handy at night on more than one occasion. took a licking just like the oldtimers! my only green-faced watch. unfortunately it didn't keep on ticking like the oldies. gonna try some of that electrical switch spray you guys talked about. it runs, but sporadically. any other suggestions? tim
