      a plastic material that is flexible? I think I remember seeing how those bullet resistant vests are made and they were using pieces of WOVEN Kevlar to make them. Perhaps this material would be too soft for watch gears.

      Personally, I like nylon which is actually tough enough to make the gears used in manual automobile transmissions!
