I think this is about the best looking watch Timex ever made (IMHO), but it needs help. It's a 1968 model 84, 9025. Based on the engraving on the back I think it was given as a retirement watch from Bendix on 10-31-68. It hack-sets, although I'm not sure it should, and keeps great time when it's running. And that's the problem. It might run for a day or two then stop. It might run for only an hour the next time. It does have a new battery.
I'm sure it could use a good cleaning but I don't want to risk wrecking it by making it a DIY project. Nobody around here will touch it, and most have said that it isn't worth it anyway. That may be true monetarily, but I think these electrics are worth saving, if just for history's sake.
Does anyone know of someone who'll service an electric these days?
