- - my best time so far for a FULL STRIP, CLEAN AND RE-ASSEMBLE SUCCESSFULLY IS A FULL TWO WEEKS
Now that's not an exagerration, when I do this I can only work for about 40 minutes at a time at the resolution needed in the old eyes, so I pace it with the different loupes and magnifiers I have. OTOH, I can strip, clean and re-lube and assemble a travel alarm or larger in around a three hour period, so I suppose it's really a question of scale versus eyesight and manual dexterity with seventy year old equipment (me'self )
Doing the maths, if I do a full strip on a watch, I'll do five days of the 40 minutes a day, two days we are too busy teaching dance for a work session, and then repeat the steps (teaching dance again LOL ) the next week. That's 10 x 40 minutes = 400 minutes which is around 7 hours, so I suppose that places it into perspective - eh?
But it does mean I have to make a very determined decision or have a definite need to do so before I attempt a full strip and clean.
