Upon viewing the '69 watch's case on a higher resolution monitor, I notice that it does not actually have "rounded" corners, but rather "beveled" corners. I also like the way they "counter balanced" the date window at 4:30 by placing the Timex logo at 10:30. Placing the date window there allows one to read the date without having to twist his arm into an uncomfortable position as happens with date windows located at 3:00.
Come to think of it, I wonder why they didn't start making wristwatches with the 12:00 marker located at what was the 1:30 position. That way, it would have been easier to read both the time and a date located at 3:00 without moving one's arm that much. That would have been a far better dial orientation from an ergonomic point of view.
