      I tested the advice I gave earlier regarding using a stem from an old Marlin and found that it does not work. The stem for the Marlin is about 1/2 mm short and will not allow the set lever to drop into the slot. Otherwise it is the same. The crown will work with the stem and and case tube so a swap, as you mentioned earlier, might work.
