Finding old Timex bezel

I have an early 70's automatic Timex watch that's missing the rotating bezel. It's not a valuable watch, but it may be the first I ever bought. Are there any sources of old parts for these, especially a replacement bezel? I think it was black and white plastic.

Thank you,

NEC

The only source I am aware of is collectors such as our members or finding a similar donor watch on auction sites. You have to be sure you know the catalog number and year of your watch in order to get the correct size. There are probably about 6 different size bezels and then there are dive style and and ones with just numbers. there are black plastic and silver color aluminms and even some maroon ones.

BTW welcome to the forum.

if you look at the bottom of the dial and give us those small numbers below the 6, we can identify your watch and at least tell you what style and color bezel you need.

Great, thank you. I hadn't noticed the numbers before. The first set appears to be 4767C, and the second set is 3272.

The numbers to the right give the movement number and date of production >>>

"3272" translates to movement #32....production year 1972. The 4767C is the catalog or model number.

Do members actually have catalogs?

Thank you very much. Are there members that actually posses these old Timex catalogs?

The first set should be 47670. The watch is a Viscount calendar and has a two tone dial with no numbers.
You are correct in that it should have a black diver style bezel(Timex calls it an elapsed time ring) with numbers in 10's with a 15 sec countdown. The bezel is quite narrow and has an inside dia of 30.5mm and an outside of 35mm. BTW the watch sold for $17.50 when new. I have the same watch only a 1973.
Sorry, I don't have a spare one in my parts supply.

Great info!

Wow, thanks Bill. That describes this watch perfectly. I can see that the bezel must have been thin or it would contact the crown. I'll post a photo here soon. The watch works fine and now I know what to look for to make it whole.

Best Regards,

Cliff
