Don't know anything about the Levrette but if you don't know I can fill you in on the Timex. The numbers
2655102576 indicate the following. 26551 is the catalog number and indicate that it is a Marlin model. The 025 indicate it is a manual wind calendar movement #25. The 76 indicate the year made which is 1976.
BTW the watch sold for 9.97 USD back then.
Don't know if this is helpful or not.

This has been discussed on The Watch Forum - in regard to both pocket watches and wrist watches - but there's not a lot of info. They have made some VERY high end watches at various times, worth in the tens of thousands in pocket watches. Some Levrette wristwatches sell for many hundreds. (I'm quoting UKpounds £, so think about the conversion!)

The company appears to have been a quality, reputable Swiss maker, possibly part of SCHWARZ ETIENNE, and to have still been making watches into the late fifties. You should be looking at having this appraised in some way by a reputable watchmaker with knowledge of Swiss watches and different ebauches/cases etc. Looking at your photo, I'd think you got a bargain on the Timex, and the Levrette is pure 100% bonus, certainly well worth having professionally serviced, lubed and timed, either to keep or sell on ! Google the name and you'll see good ones selling at anything from $170 upwards.

I've never seen reports that they ever did a "budget" line, so let us know how you get on.

Hey Andy I've got a levrette incabloc in perfect condition with leather strap, this watch was sent to Australia back in the seventies by my grandfather who lived in Italy. My grandfather specialized in watch repairs and a member of the family owned a jewelers store in Italy. I'm keen also to know of these watches. I love my watch and only wear it on special occasions ie my wedding hope some of this can help regards

Levrette Service

Hi Andy,

You can send it to me if you want it serviced. I'm in Lincolnshire. If you don't want to post it there's a guy in Farnham, Surrey called Terry Quick, who trained me. He's been ill recently so I can't guarantee he's still working but I can find out for you.

Email me if you want to know more.

As to the watch, it probably has an ETA or FE movement in it. These watch companies didn't make their own movements. If you're happy to send it I'll give you the full lowdown on it, fully overhaul it and give you an approximate value.

You can email me.

Very nice examples...

of what can be done with case design. Those lugs on the Hamilton are some of the most artistic I've ever seen.

Also, note how well the "rolled gold plated" cases have held up over the decades. With the price of gold now pushing the $2000 USD/troy ounce mark, we won't being seeing these types of cases again.

I'm so sorry you wasted your money. How about I reimburse you for your
foolish expenditure and you send those sorry specimens to me?

Jack, that is so nice of you to offer me a chance to recoup my loss. I will certainly consider it. In the meantime, I have discovered the Hamilton is named 'Vincent' and is from 1941.

The auto is all cleaned up and strapped to my wrist right now. what a cool watch! the gold filled Longines has also been cleaned up but I will have to replace the crystal. I just noticed it has a gold cap fitted over the crown. My guess is both of them are mid 50's.

Not sure if it was a good or bad thing I found this new honey hole of vintage shop!
