This is my only Q Timex 1979 I'm not looking to collect any quartz but this is not really your standard quartz. Sitting next to it's older brother 1977 dynabeat.

NICE ones, David! The "Q" is quite a unique horological creation>>>>

as you know, it's a hybrid, and has the distinctive "click" movement of the minute hand. The minute hand does not gradually move from one mark to the next, but rather at the end of one minute, moves in one jump to the next mark.

I have one exactly like that one, which I posted yesterday as my watch of the day. I LOVE it and mine keeps excellent time. I have another non-working "Q" and I was just looking at the movement, noticing it has a 2 jewel movement and TIMEX labeled it "Electronic".

Nice piece of horological history, too.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Cheers, happy.gif

I have two of them. First one is my favorite. From 1980.

This one isn't a beauty but I still enjoy it. Also from 1980.

Here's a scan of a catalog page of Timex Q's available in 1980. That's a nice assortment of watches.
