While fishing the bay last week I spotted a Mercury model I had only seen in the service manual. I was able to remove much of the green oxidation from the dial with the use of a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge. I figured the dial was so bad it was worth the risk. Havent' touched the movement yet and not sure if I will this one goes into the dispaly case for now.

Are you sure that's a Mercury? Looks more like the Monroe to me.

I noticed you picked up an old Kelton in the same lot with a missing minute hand. I got a gold tone one in identical condition at the flea market on Sunday so one of these days I will be going through the 200 or so envelopes of minute hands I have to find a close replacement. If you want one too I'll see if I can find one for you. Just let me know. Also, mine is missing the sweep second hand, how about yours?

the kelton from the lot is not in good shape. As you noticed the hour hand is missing but, the dial is and movement is were the real damage is. Dial is very faded out and the movement has rust issue. I did notice that the movement is built to have a sub sweep and the dial is not desgined for one.

I have 2 Ingersoll watches in the to do pile alos.

decided to clean up the kelton for storage and popped in a new crysatl too. the movement has rust issues and the mainspring is slipping but the darn thing at least ticks a few seconds.

also just so happens I have a replacement movement available...does not run but no rust issues. another to do.
