with all the prices out the window for the high end stuff i see in magazines, how accurate do they get? although i do like the guts it took to put out a high end watch with only one hand. Meistersinger watches have 12 marks between each hour marker, so it's guessing to tell the time to within 5 minutes. nice looking, too. tim

watches are intended for people who do not need to tell the time of day to the minute. They are the "idle" rich who do not have to worry about getting to a job by a certain time or facing sanctions. Also, such watches are an homage to the original mechanical clocks of the Middle Ages which only had one hand: the hour hand. They are the least "complicated" type of mechanical timepiece possible which contains the minimum needed to tell the time of day. Generally, however, any high-end dress watch by a major manufacturer will be just as accurate with one hand as it would with three. The question is how accurately has the watch been set by the wearer and how accurately does he read it.

interesting to have only one hand on a dial. For me this type of watch is worn more as a statement of style and desgin over the need to be precise with time. Than again I generally wear a watch to match my attire.
