I was sitting on my front porch on Wednesday and was watching my son as he was walking back from walking our dog. While he was comeing back I saw a little brown pup fall in beside him as they came closer I noticed the pup was a pit bull pup about 4 to six months old, dark brown and verry skinny. he was pretty beat up with a cut on his side and some scars on his neck. he has fattend up some and is a bit more playfull now. He is better behaved then I expected for a Pit. He doesnt chase my cat and fell right in line with my other dogs with no fighting or anything. I have tried to find a shelter but none of the pit rescues will call, and that leaves the pound wich wont happen. So it looks like I am now a Pit Bull owner. I am trying to find out what is needed for a happy helthy pit bull. My other dogs hunt pigs. They have done it since they were pups. I dont feel this guy is up to it. He is verry mellow and mostly wants to play and cut up.he is still to skinny but has no quit in him, and even with the hard living he is pretty strong. I will thank you in advance for any advice and wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July.
Thanks much

if hes determined and wont quit. hes probally game. most likely he will end up being the best dog you have. if hes skinny worm him and take him to the vet for a fecal and to get him shots. some pits are lean and some are bulky. the pig hunting/pig stalking he will love you just give him a minute. my dogs hunted and preyed oon chicken for a long time. and hogs they dont stop untill they are done. my house pitt has been down on a boar for more then 3 hours going round after round without giving up. then came home got her bath and curled up on the couch with our cat.... just make sure your son is good to his new found friend and get a chip or a gps collar because if he found her wandering shes probally a wanderer.....please dont take the dog to the shelter because the outcome is never good for a pitbull no matter how sweet it is
