As the fourth television gets installed in our house children all across Africa ask "WHY?" and we quite reasonably tell them, "Look, there are four of us in this house and some day we may all want to watch four different things at the same time. Just because it never happened before doesn't mean it won't happen now."
"But" the starving masses scream "don't you have any of those video recorder things?"
"Well, yes, that is true but what if we don't want to record it? What if we want to watch it NOW? We have to be prepared."
"We haven't eaten in three weeks" comes the weakening reply.
"Oh, force yourselves. I got a new series of Friends to watch."

P.S. Just saw Shakira on TRL. Isn't it so annoying the way they never play like half the song? It seemed good though but like a lot of things I've heard before.

And while you're all yammering on about MTV, don't they have way too many programmes on now?
Becoming, Jack-ass, Tom Green, Fanatic, making the video, story of...
I mean, some videos (in their entirety) would be good.
Oh yeah, and that that No Doubt song is really growing on me.

here is this weeks movie round-up.

The Last Castle - yeah, better than I ever thought it would be but seriously not good enough. Robert Redford is rubbish but James Gandalfini is flippin' brilliant, someone give this man a leading role NOW! So see it if you're not that fussy.

Behind Enemy Lines - Pretty stylish but pretty insubstantial. See The Last Castle instead, it may at least leave you feeling something. Even if it's angry.

The Man Who Wasn't There - I didn't say this one already, did I? This is really good but not up to the heights I expected. Just very good, very interesting, very different.

Think of the fun they had naming the last film;
The Man who wasn't all there,
Who wasn't there, man?
I wasn't there.
The Man wasn't there.
There wasn't a man.

So many possibilities.
And don't anyone dare forget Vanilla Sky on Jan 25th!

Well, I suppose that part might be true but usually a party means some people turning up and it's okay to admit here, among freinds, that you have none down in Cork and no one will be coming. It's alright. I have no friends in Cork either.
