World gym won't do anythang. Merchants and lookouts are always pretty decent competition along with magic when got complete team. Wacker guys I heard are also in this and moved up to D class so look for them around when the lights come on. Should make for a good tourny. "is mustangs in this? No one has said" heard they we're playing in c. |

"World Gym won't do anythang"...thanks for the vote of confidence. haha.....But he is right, since we aren't playing in Jackson. We are playing locally since we are missing players and a few others could only play if we stayed in the area.
Magic is not playing either. I like the all the good info you get on this board...too bad, it's not always true.
BUT, you mentioned Merchants, Look-Outs and Magic as possible contenders while we weren't.....we are 2-1 vs the above teams this year. We don't claim to be the best team- but we aren't chumps either.
Good luck to everyone in Jackson! |

The C has been canceled. There was only 1 team that really got in and that was Sportscenter. Phares was never in and the Chargers dropped out for lack of players. |

D- Mustangs
E- Alumni House
Rumor has it that Alumni House has made a couple of pick-ups for this weekend that just might help them pull out the W this weekend! |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 9 2008, 2:57 PM |
How many pickups did they get and who. |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 9 2008, 3:07 PM |
They picked up Waldo. Thats not a good pickup. He has a bum are, he can barely throw from 2nd to 3rd and he may hit about 400 every tournament. Congrats Alumni House on getting a "dud". Haha |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 9 2008, 3:19 PM |
Mustangs will not win D i can promise you that. |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 9 2008, 3:43 PM |
Get off of Waldo's back, last time I watched he was playing outfield and doing a good job at it, and he hit about .750 to .800 for that tournament. I am not sure how he will fit in with the Alumni House crew though but we will have to watch and see this weekend. |

I just dont understand what tournament directors are doing for the States. Give SC, McNair and the Chargers their bids to Nationals and send them on their way. All three of those are B teams if there ever was some.
Then let the real C teams (the ones who arent getting paid) play c. MS Storm,Performance Marine, World Gym, STG/Elite, Mustangs, Hemphill(even thou they play d year in and year out), Lookouts, Mule Skinners, Black Sox, 662, 177th storm, Reeds, KnuckleBusters, Triangle
That would be 14 teams in the C and then you could have the rest of the teams in the D which there are plenty of em. Then Dump the E which is a joke if there ever one was.(ejection for hitting a hr???)
Its just crazy that most of the teams above have to play d because of three or four teams who are getting paid to play softball make everyone play down in order to go to Nationals and try to win a World. If you are getting paid to play softball thats fine and dandy but go play where others are getting paid and put yourself against those teams and not the ones who are just trying to play and have a good time in their own state. This is the second year in a row that the C hasent made and its for that one reason only.
Now someone tell me Im wrong cause i would love to hear the reason there is no C ball in MS besides the above mentioned. |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 9 2008, 4:59 PM |
Why are people scared to play any of those teams? It is a ****ing name on a damn cotton jersey!! Who cares if they get paid or not!! If you actually believed in the team that you played for, you could probably beat any of those teams you named. JMO!! |

Guest (no login) | To the poster about C States | July 9 2008, 5:10 PM |
Well how about your chicken sh!t ass for one. Then everybody else who thinks like you another. It is really sad that you do not know or realize that the Chargers and SC and McNair are LEGIT C teams. And who says all the players that play for them get paid? You see their pay stubs? Seen their W2's? Hells bells guys like you have been hammering away at the Chargers for the last month cause they haven't played and they suck and now you want to b!tch because they want to play in a State? Didn't hear this sh!t when SC was getting that butt kicked for most of the year. Never heard anything about McNair till they thumped the Chargers and SC in the same tournament. You might want to throw in EJ's/Elite, Southern Merchants, 177th Storm and a few others into that imaginary "B" world of yours cause they have beaten those teams to. You whinning crybabies have all but ruined softball in MS for sure. You wanted to blame it all on SC for years until the Chargers came along. Then it was the Chargers and SC. Now McNair has stepped up to challenge a little so they have joined the "axis of evil"? Like I said you better look around cause there are some more out there right on the verge of jumping into the fight. Not counting the ones who have already beaten them there is STG/Elite, 662 Sports, MS Mustangs, Performance Marine, etc. You titty babies moaned and croaned about MS Sports for years and they didn't get paid. But they were better than you so you cried and cried to keep them out of "your" tournaments. The real reason C States won't make this year or any year for that matter is not the Chargers or SC or McNair. It is because of Chicken Little's like you. |

Waldo made a decision, so leave him alone. He is a good guy and have enjoyed playing with him the few times I have gotten to play on the same team. I do not know why he is playing with AH, but it doesn't matter. Good luck to him and AH. |

last year when these teams played we made the case that they were legit B teams now that they dropped oh now they are legit c teams which is it did they get worse |

I heard that 8 of SC guys are playing with the Titans this weekend. Should be your E State Champs right there.
All the South boys, Richard and afew from Yazoo City. |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 10 2008, 8:10 AM |
just throw one big tourny and if you want to play get in. if you don't want to play stay your bitching ass at the house. you don't win **** but a t shirt anyway!!!! play to have fun. if you play 3 or 4 games you have done ok. if you go 2 and q tough **** come back next week ready to play. in every tournament someone has to go 2 and q. that's just the way softball goes. |
|
Guest (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 10 2008, 8:14 AM |
Just to add a little to what was already said about the whining...
Teams drop in MS cause of the two or so tourneys at the end of the year. The ones that matter to a few of those teams. Have you ever been to a B world? The Chargers, nor SC, nor McNair have any business being called legit B teams... I'm not knocking them, cause they could go to a B world and win a game or two, but they can win just as many at a C world.
Point is... its not a State issue... its a national issue. Get over it.
The tourneys in MS would make if teams that probably dont win a tourney with the merchants, mustangs, lookouts, reeds, 662, pm, ej's all in it, but they may win a few games, wouldnt run from EVERY SINGLE ONE of those tourneys. I really dont have a problem with going to a few tourneys a year that you should walk the dog in, but isnt that a little hippocritical to bash one of the above for doing the same thing, just on a little more visible scale?
Finally, SC, Chargers, McNair, and whoever ought to have an opportunity to play in a State Tournament, not just be given a bid. AND what makes you think calling D, C and calling C, B is going to change anything? |

??????????????? (no login) | E-STATE | July 10 2008, 8:36 AM |
i also heard many of the so called E teams are picking up any C or any of the good players out there. this is really going to screw up the e-class. to bad this would have been a good tournament to see what E teams were playing, and who may represent the state. oh well, Mississippi softball at it's best. I wish it was like it used to be years ago. back then you had to play qualifying tournament or district tournaments and finish in the top 5 of one just to play in a state.plus you had to have a roster turned in before the first tournament and could not make but 2 or 3 player changes all year.THAT IS WHEN WINNING A TOURNAMENT MEANT SOMETHING. just wishing for the old days and for the game to be fun again. |
|

If you know so much, which e teams are picking up C players and who are the players? |
|
Player (no login) | old days? | July 10 2008, 9:20 AM |
To Mr Question Marks,
You say that you long for the old days and that is when softball was fun, but, then you talk about how the competitive 'E' class has been ruined.
I hate to tell you but in the 'old days', there was no such thing as 'E' class. Hell, nobody played 'D' class (that was for league teams and guys with blue jean shorts). Everybody was playing 'B' and 'C'. I played 'B' class state in Jackson in the early 90's and there were over 30 teams.
30+ teams in 'B' state!!
So mentioning 'E' class and the 'good ol days' in the same breath is ridiculous. |

"I heard that 8 of SC guys are playing with the Titans this weekend. Should be your E State Champs right there.

I doubt John would be dumb enough to pick up 8 SC guys to play E state. He knows he would get protested. Besides, Titans have a good enough team to compete in the E state without SC players. |
|
Guest (no login) | protest | July 10 2008, 9:38 AM |
what are you going to protest and who are you going to protest to. not any teams have sanctioned in ISA this year. so it doesn't matter as long as your name is on the roster you turn in saturday morning. |

???????????? (no login) | Re: Predictions for ISA | July 10 2008, 9:43 AM |
you are correct!!! the lowest classification back then was D with 1 homerun or homerun could only be hit by the first person to hit it out. the others were outs.but teams or players could not shift from team to team. most all tournaments were sanctioned. |

when in ROME do as the ROMANS do. If they do so what everyone else is doing it. But i dont think they are. i heard they may not even have enough to play. it seems like a lot of teams are having this problem this year. |

Just combine the thing....make it a C/D. What's the big deal? Have S/C (or anyone else) sanction C and play. Then you crown the highest finishing 'D' team (assuming they don't win the whole thing) as the 'D' winner. Easy fix, everyone plays, but I guess that is too easy. |

This is for the people trying to start crap about E teams picking up SC players. Got this directly off of SC's web site.

ISA C South State
The ISA C Class South State did not make. Therefore we are taking off this weekend. We plan on attending the Deuce McAllister Classic in Hattiesburg next weekend followed by the ISA C Class North State. Please use this weekend to catch your breath and do some much needed healing up! The most important part of our schedule is upcoming and we need to be refreshed and ready to go.
Please note: No Sports Center/Worth player is to pick up with any teams playing in the ISA South State this coming weekend. This is a sanctioned event and as it has always been, we do not allow our players to pickup and play in any sanctioned event without prior permission. If a player chooses to violate this caveat he should consider himself no longer a member of the Sports Center/Worth softball team.

THE RULE STATES A PLAYER MAY DROP ONE CLASSIFICATION AND BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY. SO IF ANY S/C OR CHARGER PLAYER IS PLAYING E HIS TEAM WILL HAVE TO FORFIET THE GAME. NOW IF ONE OF THOSE PLAYERS WANT TO PLAY D IT IS ALLOWED. THE RULE IS THAT SIMPLE, SO IF SOME OF THE S/C OR CHARGER PLAYERS WANT TO PLAY D THEY CAN, BUT E THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED. SO IF ANY S/C OR CHARGER PLAYER PLAYS E THE TEAM CAN BE PROTESTED. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR IDS. |
