I have no problem

by Doglover

with dogs being kept outside at all, there are dogs who do not want to be inside. As long as the dog is outside in a safe environment and has plenty of food/water and shelter from bad weather, and human interaction, outside is fine.
I do have a problem with dogs who are tied up on short chains, no shelter in bad weather, and their owners never come near them unless necessary. I do have a problem with people who get animals as pets who never even think of it as a long term responsiblity. Please understand, I am ABSOLUTELY not saying that if anyone brings a new pet home and that pet turns out to be aggressive, a biter, or a danger to humans, that you should have a "its my resposibility to keep the dog no matter what". Humans come first, Hands down!
I'm just saying that we need to think before we take on the responsibility of a pet. How we are prepared to deal with this pet, such as housetraining, I know people who get a puppy and if its not housebroken within a week the puppy is gone. You do not have to love all children to be a good parent to YOUR children and by the same token, you do not have to be an animal nut to be a responsible and compassionate pet owner.

All I am saying is THINK! THINK! THINK! before you bring a pet into your home.
