i watched it. there were several fans from wise making their way to the gate to "meet' the refs as they left the field. but the wise coach beat them to it, he shoved a ref, used some pretty foul language on him, and kept pushing on him. a county officer got in there and broke them up. imop, somebody should have been escorted away from the field in handcuffs.
wise played a really good game defensively, they are a much better team than they were last year. and it looks like, with their young squad they'll be a powerhouse for the next few years.
it's going to be tough to get out of norton with a win if we play like we did last night, and norton i'm sure is still holding a grudge, and are hungry for a win, especially after the outcomes of the last couple of years games against them.
i hate to see a game decided on a penalty flag, but that's the way the ball bounces. wise fans are in an uproar and feel they were cheated out of a W. I just think back to several games that we had long runs and td's called back. it's just the way it is. i thought the refs actually allowed the game to be played. there were a couple of times, there should have been flags thrown, on both sides but weren't. the refs were pretty evenhanded as they should be.
a good winner is a humble winner. whoever the chainholder was should not have been over there taunting wise after the game. we were lucky to have come out with that win. certainly nothing to be bragging about.
