The central core of the Democratic party does not wish to infringe the right of the people

"The central core of the Democratic party does not wish to infringe the right of the people to protect themselves."

Isn't using "central core of the Democratic party" rather vague and generalized? Just who, or what is the 'central core' of the Democratic party? I'd like to know. Is it the voters or donors? Is it the candidates or office holders themselves? Is it the power bosses at the DNC? The state organizations? The local county committee or precinct chairmen? Central core could either cover a very great deal of territory or a very limited group.

At any rate, I think the Democratic party has worked very hard to earn its well deserved reputation and perception by most freedom loving Americans as a party that most definitely has done just about all it can do to limit our second amendment rights.
