Dr Ralph

by Music Lover, horse lover

We all stayed up to watch Dr Ralph on Letterman last night. Clintwood is on the map now and when the movie comes out everyone around the world will know us. We are all proud of Ralph and his band and it's the first time that I can say that I am proud to be an American. Keep up the good work and let's hope the movie comes out soon and and they get some big name stars and a lot of locals to star in the movie.

Some prospective, please!!

by Proud American

THIS makes you proud to be an American?????????
It's fine that you're proud of his achievements, but come on.........
Maybe "proud to be from Dickenson County" would make more sense.
Veterans Day is just around the corner. Maybe you should think about those true heroes who gave their lives so that people like Dr. Stanley could be free to express their talents.

Let me explain the comment

by Bluegrass Rules

Michelle Obama made a speech where she said that when her husband was elected to run for president that it was "The first time she felt proud to be an American". This was an attempt at humor by Music Lover, Horse Lover. We salute those brave men and women who have served in our military.

Ralph Stanley qualifies as a hero

by Lilly

After serving in the military during World War II, Ralph and his brother Carter formed the Clinch Mountain Boys, a band that saw its first records produced in 1947. Though Carter passed away in 1966, Ralph has kept the Clinch Mountain Boys going with new members from after Carter's death until the present day

You've got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!

by Reader

You are proud to be an American for the first time in your life because of a famous bluegrass musician? That's unbelievable and if it's true then I feel sorry for you and the miserable existence you must have suffered through until now.

I'm proud to be an American because of our founding fathers, a constitution and bill of rights that, to me, are almost as inspired as the Bible. I'm proud to be an American because of our liberties and freedoms. I'm proud to be an American because of the thousands of men and women who have served and at times given their lives to protect me, you and this great nation. I'm proud to be an American because I live in and respect the fact that the United States of American is the home of the brave and the land of the free. I'm also proud of Ralph Stanley but I'm able to keep in mind that he's a very talented entertainer, not a statesman.

That's why i told the Raiders anything could still happen when it was 14 to 0 and i was right they came back and scored 7 against the Indians and with the fumbles and turnovers right there at last.
The raiders could have come back and won, anything could happen at any time, right?
