There IS no evidence to the contrary. People just aren't interested in Bigfoot, by and large. Bigfoot is not the only cryptid whose existence has not been scientifically documented as yet. There are probably a few, like in the oceans, that no one has ever even seen of heard about. And smaller cryptids on land, too, just none so spectacular and with all the romance of the Bigfoot. And what about the possibility of a remnant population of the giant sloth Mylodon in the Amazon rain forest? What about T-birds? Course some of those could well be out-of-place Andean or California condors....but not all, I bet, any more than all BF sightings are of bears. Just some of both.
