Off Topic: Kecksburgh UFO story

by (no login)

Hi group,

I was wondering if anyone had any available copy of the Kecksburgh UFO show on Sci-fi last night.

I was out and I missed the show. I wonder also if it could be repeated as well?

If anyone can help me, you can email me off these forms at philipbrocco777@hotmail.com

Thanks

Phil

A quick question

by (no login)

I am doing a report on Sasquatch and I need to interview people. I have a few questions about your beliefs and knowledge of Sasquatch.I have scrapped together some information, but have found some conflicting sources if you could answer these questions that would be a huge help! Thanks!
1.) Can you tell me the orgins of the legend and the story behind Sasquatch
2.) What is your personal theory about Sasquatch?
3.) Have you ever seen Sasquatch?

Deer Runner I deleted your post cause the poster asks for opinions and can only get them by asking others. As you can see by the post the person says they have done some research on their own. No offense to you but we are here to help out "newbies" also.
To answer some of the questions.
No I have not seen Bigfoot.
Look into Indian legends and stories from the first settlers of this country for the beginings of the Wildman legends. Personally they are not legends to me cause the bigfoot are real! Check out Leif Ericson when he journeyed down the St. Lawrence and into the Great Lakes he describes Wildmen throwing rocks and sticks at his ship.
As for what BF is, well I belive its a branch of hominid that has remained in hiding all these years. I believe they have evolved hightened senses and have adapted to our forests like no other creature in the woods. I give them alot more intelligence than some others may. I don't think they are a stupid animal, theres alot more to them and I believe alot of researchers share this point of view but may not state what they know publicly for fear of ridicule. Hope this helps .

I totally agree with Joe

by Laurie (no login)

We do not know what they are. The term Animal never has seemed like the appropriate term to me. You can look at an ape and see the animal eventhough the features and mannerisms are humanistic. I have seen three bigfoot and in none of these sightings did I sense that I was viewing an animal. My initial impression was that it was some sort of human.

It is my opinion and that of others, that this species has been around for centuries and is incredibly adaptive, intelligent and extraordinary masters at avoiding detection. Although many will say that their vocalizations and behaviors are ape like, I believe the true intelligence is wisely masked and only those that gain a high level of trust will ever venture a peek into their world and their remarkable capabilities.

I can not begin to comprehend what it is that we seek.
I saw human like locomotion, in their stride, the way they moved their arms and their body language. I have witnessed how they figure out things quickly and use a psychology that equals our own. They have capabilities beyond ours when it comes to survival because we have lost those instincts. They are smart enough to avoid most humans and acknowledge that we are perhaps their greatest known enemy. It is not a lesson learned the hard way but is passed on through parenting.

Everything we know of the animals in our world does not apply to this being. It has managed to leave very little evidence of it's existence, making it the most widely sought cryptozoological creature known to man. This is no accident. They are deliberate in not leaving tracks, hair, bodies or any other conclusive evidence yet there has been thousands of sightings. What animal known to man could be this careful? The intelligence required to accomplish this complete evasion of society over countless centuries does not suggest animal behavior nor an animal's limited brain function. It does not suggest a paranomoly. It suggests an extreme intelligence. Some believe their population is small and possibly on the verge of extinction and that is why they have not been officially discovered. I believe the world would be surprised just how many do exist and where.

Whatever they are, they deserve respect. They certainly have earned mine.
Good luck on your report.

I live in East Texas and the last sighting I had here was in March of this year.I also had a sighting about a month ago while on expedition in Central Oklahoma.

Right now, in my area, I have not noted any phenomenal activity. It varies and I have never been able to predict when the activity will pick up. Just when I believe I have established a pattern,I am disapointed once again. Perhaps one day, I will accidentally stumble upon the answer. Using scientific methods such as fruit and nut bearing, weather and other phenomena don't seem to account for the times activity increases.Knowing what I am dealing with, I believe the mystery could be intentional.

I have spent the last 12 years in wild life study but only the last three studying the bigfoot with great enthusiasm. I was a non-admitted skeptic until I had my first encounter. Eventhough I was studying the species, I was not on board until I actually saw one with my own eyes. It changed my whole life and perspective and eventually changed my attitude about research.

The first thing I discovered was that I could not research the bigfoot in the same manner as the animals I have studied. I realized through trial and error, I could not photograph them, bait them or fool them. All methods of usual evidence gathering were fruitless. I had never encountered anything I could not track, document or photograph. I had never encountered a subject that outsmarted me by observing my every action.

I used to be persistent in gaining evidence, totally disrespecting their enviornment and right to live peacefully. It was an obstinate battle. It is a wonder they did not drop a big tree on me.They never hurt me but they had every right to. Now my attitude has changed. I sincerely hope to establish some level of trust. I don't know if it is possible because I had made some grave errors in disrupting their peaceful existence. It is not a matter of evidence to me anymore but to gain knowledge and understanding of their way of life, possibly forgiveness. It is worse than starting from the beginning; it is starting over with many mistakes in tow.If I had only known then what I know now, I would not have researched with a scientific attitude but proceeded with cautious consideration and respect for their humanity.

we could all learn

by (no login)

A lot from this Lady. Not only in our search for bigfoot. But in our lives as well , if we all learn to respect other living things. People and all things we share this place we call earth with. then there just might be hope , that we to could be around as long as the creature we call bigfoot.

What I don't understand is why mistakes haven't been made by these creatures that would cause it's existence to become known? For example a youngster with no experience or sense, one that has sustained a head injury and has no sense or just a bad actor who dosen't care? During some sightings, the animal will just stand there and watch the car go by. This dosen't sound to me to be condusive to being elusive? I don't know...I hate being skeptical but it dosen't make sense imho.

I apologize for being so late on responding to this post. I don't get to visit the message boards as often as I would like.
I have read the reports of such activity and I believe just like us humans, we have those that are careless. I could only dream of such a great sighting down here where I live. All of the sightings that have been reported here in my county, were brief glimpses. I guess each group may have different levels of personal security. There are so many unanswered questions.Eventhough I research in other areas, a weekend does not tell a researcher enough and we often have to rely on the researchers that live in that area for information on behavior.

On a more obscure note, could it be possible that they may show themselves purposely? I beleive that happens at times too. They surely are more aware of our presence than we are of them. I have read about them coming forward to show themselves after skirting a camp for an hour. Is this an attempt to bridge the gap? I would really hope so but it is a dangerous chance they take. This happened here in Texas and the poor creature was fatally wounded. The man that shot him regretted it later when he remembered the look in it's eye. He was not dangerous but hungry. They over reacted out of stark fear. After shooting the bigfoot, they abandoned camp to return the next day to only a blood stain and a ransacked camp. The saddest thing is that it is highly possible that this bigfoot had developed a trust of humans somewhere and had been eating bait food. It is something that we should really think about.

So glad you have,

by Joe Biello (no login)

stated what you did in your last post!I like the fact that you have started to use your other"EYE" in your research and have put the scientific eye aside for the time being. You are on the right track. One of our members uses similiar methods without any equipement and has had excellent results. The poking and prodding in the forest may have negative effects. Turning towards what you are doing now will prove to be more fruitfull. Have you studied or listened to the tapes or CDs of Robert W. Morgan? I think you will find them interesting to say the least. He has tried everything to get close to these Bigfoot in the past and always came up short. His methods now are alot more "Maverick" than others and has had much better results. He heads the American Anthropological Research Foundation and his link can be found on our links page.

Number of Bigfoot In PA?

by PW (no login)

I'm sure this question has been asked before on this board and it seems to be impossible to answer accurately, but how many bigfoot creatures are estimated to inhabit Pennsylvania? On the 'Net somewhere I thought I recall the number 40 being mentioned. I also wonder how someone would have arrived at this number. The number 6,000 has also surfaced as a possible high-end count for the national population. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Tuff Question,

by Joe Biello (Login ericalt1)
Forum Owner

but here are my thoughts and I am sure others will have a different opinion. At our recent East Coast Conference , one of our speakers has a theory of one bigfoot for 10,000 acres of land. A family would at least need 40,000 . That was his theory. I know from our research within the state in active areas we are looking at somehwere between 10 and 20 BF for those areas. How did I come up with that , well in one area there are around six and this is from the researcher who studies the area. The other areas we study that are active have at least 2 to 4 and thats for 4 other areas. Not counting reports from other parts of the state that come in. So forty is not so far from being a number. Noone really knows of course we can guess all we want. The problem is that we can't go into the really remote areas of the state so you will never have a reall count. I believe Jim Keegan had a map at some point in his research that suggested population densities for the country.

Match it with the bear population?

by DaveM (no login)

Your average 4 1/2 foot tall black bear ranges over a specific area in need of so many calories per day. Why not double or trible that for a bigfoot.

Siberia find revives yeti legends

by (no login)

Art Bell read this story on the air Sunday morning. At www.coasttocoastam.com scroll down to "Hot Stories for Fri, Oct 10, 2003" and click on the above message title. A hiker found the lower leg of an unknown animal with a foot the size of a human foot. The article shows x-rays of the foot, and a photo that shows the fur-covered sole. The locals say the sole of the foot would need to be fur-covered for walking on snow. The actual URL for the story is http://bbc.co/2/hi/asia-pacific/3175926.stm.

Yeti Foot...the question is ??...

by (no login)

Is that foot or leg that the Russian guy found real biological material, is it anatomy, does it have DNA.
Why would some guy present that to the press if it was fake or not real? If that is a real leg, and it doesnt look like a bear or camel leg to me, if thats a real leg/foot, its probably the most important find ever, an incredible piece of evidence!!! Have scientists put it under the scope ????? (

Hi Gang;

I know this is off topic, but being only 20 days from Halloween, I thought I would ask.

What is your favorite Halloween Movie and why?

These can include bigfoot movies, Sci Fi and Scary Movies or Thrillers.

Mine is a tie.

Halloween and the Amityville Horror. (even though the Amityville horror was all a hoax)

What is yours???

All time favorites....

by Joe Biello (Login ericalt1)

This is a tuff one. I am a big time horror fan and have alot of favorite movies. Two that stand out as being scary to me are The Exorcist and The Omen! These 2 movies really got to mewhen I saw them for the first time and always send chills through till this day. On more recent movies "They" is very good to spook you.
The best creature movies are to me, Pumpkinhead, Alien, and Predator, the best zombie are of course the Night of the living Dead and Dawn and Day of the Dead!
Effects wise I still love the mechanical effects of American Werewolf in London, with CGI effects now alot of mechanical effects have stopped, thats why I still love the old stuff it was real!
Can't forget Dog Soldiers, definitley worth the rent!
There's alot more but these are some of my faves.
