This may sound harsh but it was really effective with my daughter. Restrictions, grounding, etc never worked we had to make her be physically involved. We would give her laps in the back yard or copy dictionary pages or sentences. I know this sounds harsh but it was the ONLY thing that was effective. We dont spank and it would have worked on her (it didnt with me

) and when we would tell her a punishment she would say "ok" as if we had just struck a deal and would proceed with whatever she was going to do or doing.
Making her uncomfortable in her punishment was the only thing that worked, and it didnt take much. We live in the city and have a tiny yard we would have her run it 10-20 times depending on the offense, it would take 3-6 minutes. It worked wonders and still does on occasion. Another bonus was it would wear her out enough to listen.
The writing worked as well. The physical involvement I think made it something she couldnt ignore. I know it sounds harsh but it really worked and I never felt the punishment was severe in reality, it just sounds mean.
