In your admin section, go to your index, then go to "Resource List". The forums and chat rooms that will show in your index are highlighted in the list.
To remove them from the list, simply click on each one you do not want shown while holding down the CTRL key. Only highlighted items will show in your index. If you make a mistake and remove one you want to show, just click on it again (while holding the CTRL key) and it will be highlighted once again. Once you are all done, just hit "Save Changes" then go look at your index to be sure (you may need to refresh the page before you can see your changes).
You can also create a second index page if you want different resources shown for different reasons.
