So what did HTML enabling my forum do? I have been writing HTML and CSS in those description, header and footer fields for quite some time now.
My original purpose for all of this was to be able to place a small HTML file that Google generates into the root directory, so that they could verify that I "own" (not in a legal sense of course...we discussed that already) the forum so that I can send Google site maps to hopefully better index the site (WAFF and all of it's subforums...I suspect Google might be treating each forum that we (WAFF) have as a separate entity and not a whole site).
Right now if you Google 'World's Armed Forces Forum'...we don't even show up in the first 5 pages...we are beaten by other message boards that have not been active since 2006 or links to individual posts on our forum from other message boards (also ancient...2006) and have fewer posts than a slow day on one of our forums...
I am open to any suggestions (I am not fixed on the site map method). Right now I went through and updated every title and description to include the phrase "World's Armed Forces Forum"...but it appears for the most part that Google ignore meta tag keywords...if you know differently please let me know, as I can populate those fields over the course of an evening...I am all ears (or eyes as the case me be...

) to improve our Google ranking.
...I gotta fix the Google ranking so that we can break that 200,000 page hits/month and therefore give N54 more money...
