I do, however, share your concerns. The only way to truly control who visits and who posts on your bulletin board is to install one on your own website. Before the bottom fell out of the economy, I had over a dozen sites with phpBB bulletin boards on them. Now I have 2. It is a ton of work, between keeping up with the security updates and the problem visitors. Keep that in mind as well.
I don't know why they don't answer. That has been a concern since the first day I ever visited these admin forums.
