vulgar advertisement on my forum

I created a forum as a form of communicating with my family all over the country. I'm shocked, however, at the type advertisement that has appeared on this board. click the link below and look at the ad in the last post. It's a girl's skirt pulled up and her bottom exposed. Very tasteless, and something my 70 year old elders would be very offended to see.

Seth,

Welcome to N54. I changed some settings that should give you more appropriate advertisements. Good luck with your forum.

BTW, if you are interested in a N54 tutorial, please check out this page:

Nick - N54 Customer Support,
I'm having the same problem as Seth. Can you please modify your settings to avoid inappropriate ads on our forum?

Thanks

Martin,

I changed you to a G rating. However, before I did so, I visited your forum, and all ads seemed appropriate. In any case, if there had been some inappropriate ads earlier, hopefully the G setting will help.

Regards,

Nick, a while back (May?), I mentioned the same thing as to inappropriate ads on my forum during my "off season" when I an not Premier. You made a change and all was fine until recently when the bad ads reappeared. Right now it's advertising to chat with sexy Armenmian girls and that is not proper for a high school football forum.

What happened/changed that allowed these ads back in?

Mike,

Our ads are served by various brokers. Over most of those brokers, there are settings I can adjust. However, I cannot adjust ads that come from Google, which is our grade A ad broker. In theory, Google does not permit any such ads. In practice, as your forum attests, there is an error.

I am trying to figure out an acceptable workaround. What month do you normally revert your forum back to Premier?

Nick

Nick,

Normally I would have reverted to Premier now, as the season starts in three weeks, but since there was so little discussion last season, I am wondering if it's just not worth the money for what might total two-dozen posts.

So right now I am thinking about it.

Mike

P.S. Thanks for all the help, past, present and future.

Nick, any luck in getting rid of this "Chat with sext Armenian girls" ad? I'ts almost dominating the forum at times when I visit (like right now). That is the only objectionable one I've seen and it's like files on a dead horse.

Mike,

There is no setting we can change to make this ad go away--given there is no obscene image or language, it is just inappropriate for your forum--it is not obscene, really.

However, I did ask my boss to put in a telephone call to our contact at Google Ads to see what can be done. This will require a few days.

We have the ability to give the ad engine some hints on content, and I think we can do "negative" hints. (Nick, just try a minus sign before a word when activating that feature). It might take a couple of days to figure out if or how well it works.
