Hi folks,

I'm currently building the Pit Road 1/35 kit of the Type 89 12.7cm twin AA gun, and the plan is to put it on a base to depict one of the gun positions on Sokehs Rock, overlooking Kolonia, the capital of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. I have two questions:

1. What colour would it have been? On board a ship, grey of course, but on land? I think green, and this may be borne out by this photo I took in 2004, which seems to show green paint over grey. Anyone care to suggest which green?

2. What uniforms would the gun crew have worn? The kit gives me four sailor figures, but they're wearing ship-board uniforms. I imagine on land it would be tan shorts and short-sleeved shirts.

Any help in this would be appreciated.

Regards,

Al
