I am going to be building the Dragon 1/72 Ka-Mi as one of them on Saipan painted grey with the brown barrel and antnna base as with S.T. Zadoga's larger scale kit. In one of his books he has 3 Ka-Mis on Saipan with the 1st Yokosuka SNLF and the were all lost the night of 15/16 june 1944. He also has the innner TCs hatch painted light grey. I will probably do this as well.
The kit also has decals for one on Aitape is that off New Guinea?
As for the ones on Leyte the book "The Rising Sun" has them carring 9 amphibious tanks. In reading the Nihonkaigen.com IJN page they have a section on the Leyte convoys. TA No9 LST 140 and T159 while unloading came under fire from artillery, mortars and tank destroyers. T159 was sunk and T140 was damaged but got away. The destroyer Coghlan also may have fired at the T159. You mention in an earlier posting 8 being found on the beach it could be the 9th if the book is right may have sunk or lost with the T159 or not unloaded with the T140. Morisons official history Leyte does have an account of this action but nothing on tanks ect. I hope this is of some use.
