Hi all,

I'm finished to build the nice Dragon Ka-Mi, very soon I'll post here some images before the paint. I like to paint it in green color, I'm searching for markings or any pictures for references.

Can anybody help me?

if you wish to be accurate. I haven't seen anything about green Type 2s. These belonged to the Navy. Maybe someone will know more. Of course you can paint it green if you want to.

Early Ka-Mi (e.g. Kwajalein or Saipan) were painted in grey. Later ones (e.g. Leyte or Shimushu) were painted in green.

I've seen that picture before and several others but didn't know they were green. What are the source documents that say they were green? Did they come from the factory painted green or did the crews paint them green in the field? That means I have to build another Type 2 now.

It is not clear. But, some Ka-Mi were repainted in green at Q Base (amphibious tank base in Japan).

Hi Joey

According Mr. Zaloga notes in this same forum, the correct color is the IJN Type 21 green, you can obtain it in the Mr. Color IJN set, as the SC04 Green.

Now I think this set cannot found it, fortunately some time ago I purchased this one, and I like to paint it with this color.

White Ensign Models also has an IJN Type 21 Camouflage Green (WEM Colourcoat IJN07).
