I need some advise on selling a collection of Timex watches collected over the last 35 years. Can anyone suggest a better means of selling the watches other than Ebay. I have about 5,000 Timex watches. I am going to start with my duplicates, and some parts watches then move to the final collection. I have complete catalogs from 1955, and service manuals. I think I will only sell the watches first. Need some help on this delema to down size collection. Not for this forum, however have another 5,000 other name brand watches. Does it make sense to sell in small batches?
Phillip
...to sell them in batches of i.e. 3-4 watches ( working watches ) and then maybe 10-15 ( non-working/parts watches ). However, you could make large batches of i.e. 100 watches as I am sure that would generate an interest for those hardy Timex collectors
Ebay would be the first choice for selling them, but if you're not comfortable with Ebay you could contact a nearby antiques auction house ( or online ) and have them sell the whole lot for you. I would imagine that one huge lot of 5000 Timex watches would be quite a substantial auction, and you could always set a minimum price. Or divide them into 5 lots of 1000 each. Just a thought.
And Phillip: please contact me if you're willing to sell some across the Atlantic
Yeah, I think it also comes in a brownish red dial. Honestly, would prefer to have the blue. Thank you so much for offering though. I just love how everyone on this forum is so kind.
Hi, I spotted a marbled Timex on Ebay whilst hunting for more. I am not sure about the color, pic is very bad, but it could be blue. It is a fixed price or offer so I s'pose it is safe to post you the item no. 160260047437
it's been such a long time. You and I used to be in contact regularly years ago on Alan N.'s Timex Forum. I've thought of you several times lately. Hey...email me at: [email protected] .
I am a brand new member of this forum, & a newbie collector of Timex. Please put some of your watches on Ebay so that that I'll get a chance to buy a few. I promise to keep the bidding going at least!!
Any chance of you sending me a list of watches for sale?
Cheers Richard.
I can't send a list because there are just too many. That is part of my delema. I just don't know where to start. I just sold 100 to a guy in Japan , and he was willing to let me just pick them out. I picked out 50 that i was sure were running, and 50 fixers. I still have all the other brands I want to get rid of as well. I don't want to sell them for too low a price, and want a fair return. I have sold some on Ebay, but not happy with the process. they sell for too low a price.
I am open to suggestions. If you know of anyone who needs about 3000 w omens Timex let me know. I didn't even count them in the original batch.

I was psyched to see that you have a large Timex collection. Do you have any of the Heritage Collection reproductions from the early 00's? I have the Marlin, but I am trying to get the others. I will pay top dollar. Thanks.
are you near a Time Factory outlet? I recall on my last trip to the one in Harriman NY that there were a few available. That is if I understand correclty that the heritage collection is made of of the reissued vintage models.
