My mom passed away this Saturday(November 27). She has been away from Ida Grove for many years and is probably forgotten but I am writing for whomever might read this so that they know what a big part of the community she played at one time.
Here's a few things she contributed to IG:
She was on the Library Board and very active in getting the new library built.
When the first Ragbrai came through IG, she the main person on the Chamber of Commerce and was very active in the success of that event.
At two different times, she ran two businesses while she lived in IG: (Heffron Pharmacy which she continued to run for 2 years after my father passed away and The Fabric Boutique).
She substitue taught at all three schools (grade, middle and high).
I just wanted you to know that there are (were) many people, including my mon, that contributed in small ways throughout their life to make Ida Grove what it is today.
