Well, folks, it seems we've come to the end of yet another field target season at Westfield Sportsman's Club, the first for the "new" crew.
So are we going to slip quietly into the winter's night? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!
This coming SATURDAY, November 14th, our match director, Paul Bishop, will be offering up a very challenging and enjoyable FINAL 50 WHITEOUT match to wrap up the season in fine style. 10 lanes. 25 targets in sparkling winter white (or is that just some early snow?). 50 shots to test the mettle of the best and worst of us. Classes for Open PCP, World Field Target Federation (WFTF), Piston and Hunter. It promises to be a cozy end to a wonderful year of field target and fellowship.
Plus, Chef Bob Gorham will be heating things up with another of his world-renowned "tube steak extravaganzas," plus a bit of tantalizing chili and hot mulled cider, to feed the inner shooter.
And, although Massachusetts gun law appears to prevent the aforementioned airgun swap meet, we invite one and all to bring along all those accessory items, unused stocks, pellet caches, and whatever else (as long as it doesn't fire a projectile downrange) for a chance to swap and haggle with our friends.
Registration and sight-in range open for your pleasure at 8:30 AM. Shooters meeting at 9:45 AM. Competition will begin at the stroke of 10 AM. And, who knows, maybe even a fun shoot on the sight-in range after lunch and the FT match. All for a single entry fee of $10 per shooter.
So plan on it -- the Westfield FINAL 50 WHITEOUT Match -- next SATURDAY, November 14th. You'll be glad you came.
