Justifying "Classes & Awards for Adults" - How many shooters are necessary?

When it comes to your clubs and/or major regional matches, how many adult shooters are needed to normally justify a class and awards for that class?

My predisposition is that 4 shooters would be the absolute minimum to formally justify an official class at a match, i.e. Hunter, IC, etc. to justify distributing awards for those classes to ensure that competitors aren't picking up awards for merely shooting the class when only 2 or 3 shooters actually compete in that class.

I can also see the argument that if 3 do arrive then its enough to warrant 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for a given class but the argument comes up that well, the shooters were guaranteed wood/awards...

Anyhoo, what do you guys do at your clubs?

Regards,

Tony
