Response to On this I have to agree, perhaps a "Tyro" class?
andy (and his son) and i shoot together when we can, and we shoot pretty much alike. the nats was only my 6th match, i've only shot competition since about june this year.
andy is another new shooter, and we both shoot springers. i don't know about him, but i'll probably be shooting springers forever (except for my QB co2 guns).
i also like the chance to do well with a low priced gun (mine is a B-26) and i still can't outshoot the gun.
i don't know how i feel about separating hunter into two classes. it's something to think about. i need the bucket; can't sit on the ground. my knees won't let me do the kneeling, so i shoot those lanes offhand. i know that costs me points, but i have no option.
i wish i could use a higher power scope for rangefinding, but meanwhile, i'm going to look for a larger objective to decrease depth of field while still using only 12x.
but i enjoy it however it plays out, even when ed threatens to put a big crawly bug on my neck while i'm shooting.
