Dogs are taken care of, now its getting other administrative stuff done tomorrow, plus pack up, make sure all of Leila's stuff is together!
IIRC, the newer Caldwells are better as they come updated with the 4 nylon tipped set screws that control the "tension of the wand mechanism". Might wanna take one of those set screws out from the backside of the wand and see if its nylon tipped or not.
If it isn't, call Caldwell aka Battenfeld Technologies and talked to Customer Service and let em know you'd like the upgraded set screws.
One of the common issues/complaints with the Fire Control is "stickyness" in the mechanism or it being too loose to hold steady once your on target and let go of the wand. Once you adjust the tension of those 4 set screws on the back of the rest to where its as close as you can get it. If its sticky or becomes sticky, spray some Rem Oil in the mechanism. This was recommended to me by LD and Midway USA. If that doesn't quite work, Caldwell will suggest the nylon tipped set screws.
I put the nylon set screws and a bit of moly in there, works a lot better but still not "perfect".
Sounds great, when we gonna have them beers and chat USFTs?!?!
