i have shot many of my best matches with the butt hook. it is not really a radical hook like you would see on a 10m target rifle. just enough to help me feel for location. as for the bird in the tree i have hit it twice lots of times with the butt hook on and did not shoot any different than usual. this time i hit it on the first shot and missed the second. normally i drop down a click on this target. thats all. it is not that far that the angle is a big deal. others may have a different take.
