Woo Hoo, Finally got my FT Springer Rig Assembled!!! - PICS

After many months of waiting and hoping to find an HW97 Field Target Stock for sale, James Busbin put one on the classifieds and I jumped on it!!!(Sorry Riz!!! )

The stock was in good shape but I decided I'd refinish it and spruce it up a bit. After sanding it forever, I drilled out the butt stock so I could add 2 Mercury Recoil Suppressors, 4" x 3/4", in it to test versus doing the old standby of adding lead to it.

Once the Reducers were fitted, note that the units are threaded in the rear so you can attach a screw and remove them later if desired, I started applying Tru Oil. 10 Coats or so applied with Steel Wool between coats as well as at the end to knock down the glossy finish.

I then put the Morgan Adjustable Butt Pad back on, then added some custom made Stainless Screw Cups from Tim Einck to fit the large forestock holes. I then mounted my pride and joy sub 12fpe V-GLIDED HW97K(.17) Action that also features HS Race Brake Internals, and Tim Eick Stainless Trigger Guard and Safety Button.

I then mounted a Nikko Stirling Diamond 10 - 50 x 60 with BKL Rings on top of a BKL D7 Riser Block, added a MAC1 Comma following the advice and practice of club mate and National Piston Champion Jonathan Reyes aka Johnny Piston as well as adding a US Optics Bubble Level on top of a Sportsmatch Weaver to Dovetail Adapter.

My guesstimate in the size and location of the reducers has definitely given the rifle an excellent balance point, right on the forearm flat in front of the trigger guard, I got lucky!!!

Now I just need to get to the range and dial this rig in, can't wait!!!
