It is soo much easier to hold where you want to hit using the crosshairs. I just haven't had the time to set mine up for that. The whole package depends on what and how one is shooting. I was shooting a Steyr LG100 with an 8-32 and it was such a stable package that the higher mag actually made it easier to shoot with my crappy eyes. Perhaps that's why I didn't notice a big difference in ranging. This particular scope's objective did rotate a lot stiffer than my 6-24, which may have made a dif, too.
