You might have misunderstood me. The top cap of the mount is still touching the scope tube directly, but o'rings sandwiched between top and bottom mount halves of the saddle that are held in place by slipping them on the clamp screws between the halves allow them to be tightened only enough to barely hold the tube, et not vibrate loose. there is no "rolling".
