Open sights? That is not a bad idea. Similar principal as mounting a laser above a scope. You get an additional trajectory tangent point. Use see-thru scope rings and keep your open sights zeroed for the 10-20 yard shots. Eliminate the holdover requirement. Just aim and shoot. Maybe not legal in my division. But someone in your division could try it. I'm not that good with open sights so I would pass on that option. Maybe a scope on top of a scope?

I was not trying to avoid learning. I actually like the process of range finding with my 12x scope. I was just looking for a faster alternative that was good enough. At my last match we had an uneven number of participants so I was in a trio. I love the extra company. But shooting as a trio can slow things down. We were the last group out there and I was feeling some pressure to shoot faster. I have been in the same situation before. And I don't like to be rushed in my process. It got me thinking about ways to speed things up if I needed to.
