Response to Here's my point...
I read that 30X or higher is best for rangefinding on this forum. Its been too long, I don't remember who wrote it. But it seems true from my recollection of my Bushnell at 32X versus my Leupold EFR at 20x. Granted, I think the Bushnell was quite the value and had the right attributes for field target. I don't think there's anything like it currently in production. And I think that's really the problem.
I plan on looking a step down at the 6-24X scopes, as I think they're the next best thing.
However, you're missing my point that there aren't that many scopes that really meet the criteria of having good optic, repeatability, focuses down to 10 yards, springer-rated. What you find if you look through the FT archives for recommendations are either scopes that are out of production, i.e Bushnell 4200, or high end scopes, i.e. Leupold Comp 35. If you want an officially springer rated scope, you're stuck with Leupold, Falcon, and Sightron from emailing them, and I think Hawke would stand by their product on a springer.
Maybe Hector will come out with a scope that can replace the Bushnell 4200 8-32x.
