There has been a little confusion lately regarding how fast is too fast for FT with certain weight pellets, so here's a little info I worked up regarding the highest individual velocity for common pellets:
For the common .177 pellets:
10.5gr Crosman Premiers= 926fps is 19.997 fpe (footpounds/sec)
8.4 gr JSB = 1035fps 19.985 fpe
7.9 gr Crosman or JSB = 1067fps = 19.976
For 5mm pellets:
14.3 Crosman Premier = 797fps = 19.97 fpe
13.6 JSB = 813fps = 19.965 fpe
For .22 cal pellets
14.3 Crosman or JSB = 793fps = 19.97 fpe
15.9 JSB = 751 fps = 19.97 fpe
18.1 JSB = 705fps = 19.98 fpe
Bear in mind that the AVERAGE speed for any combo should likely be a minimum of around 2% lower in order to have a reasonable chance that none of your shots will be "over" with a test of five shots.
