I kind of like your handicap idea. Keep all the classes, but everyone competes directly against each other via handicap. The handicap could be reset each year based on the average scores at the nationals (or some other method).

For a 120 shot match - If Piston handicap is 12, and Hunter handicap is 10, does that mean that Hunter/Piston handicap is 22?
