To have the tech inspection determine eligibility rather than rely on range marshals and protests after the fact? Folks have had plenty of time to understand the concept of 12X MAX in hunter RIFLE class, since its been around for near a decade, and if they plan on participating, how hard IS it to find a scope with 12X or less (yes even a 3-9X can work) to comply? Look, face facts, in CLUB matches, it is likely fine to use a gynastic huge scope turned down, as its up to the club customs. But if its the Nationals, and you want to compete for best in the country against other guys from distant lands, why not give in a little and make it more efficient and above board for everyone by simply using a scope that cannot exceed the max allowable mag? Is there something I'm missing? WHY do folks REALLY need to use bigger scopes turned down? I'm quite certain most complaining about it have selected those scopes deliberately for use on their Hunter rigs RATHER than 12X ones ... so why?
