Response to Scott, The variable scopes have always been used .........

I'm not trying to force anything on anyone. I want to increase my understanding of all aspects of FT. Answers provided by those that were around when things got started are always appreciated.

Here is a different question that still may help me understand the issue:

Why doesn't the Open Division have the following rule?:

"C. Optical sights with parallax adjustment (adjustable objective, or sidewheel focus), may be adjusted so that the target is in focus. Range (yardage) markings may be used."
