My first attempt at making a FT stock from scratch,,Pic heavy!

I wanted to try to make my own FT stock from a blank of wood. I decided on curly maple for my first attempt as it was the least expensive blank available. It was $58.00 compared to the marblewood blank below it in the 1st pic. The marblewood blank was $180.00 for comparison. I am saving the marblewood for my HW97K after I get it back from David Slade working his springer magic on it….

So, I would not feel too hurt if I messed up the maple blank…
Here are the pictures of the stock from start to finish. I will let the pics explain the progress.

All in all I think it came out alright. Most who have seen it said the photos did not do it justice..Can't wait to start on the marblewood blank.. Thanks for looking....
