Remarks:
John helped setup the course again and was able to add another elevated tree shot (two total) - a Gamo/Quality Target Bat and a Knock Over rotary selectable kill zone target set at a 25mm kill zone. John also replaced the chain and key ring leaders of all of the targets with a rigid, twisted bailing wire lever extension. It made resetting the targets a lot easier. Thank you John for your invaluable help.
Two 6 foot poles with 3 foot ribbons were placed at 55 yards and 30 yards for assisting the shooters in gauging the wind conditions during practice and during the match. The wind was more manageable this time around.  Variable 3-10 mph wind shifted around at different directions. Typical hold was either side of the kill zone and sometimes ½"-1" outside the killzone.

We had two new shooters to field target – Jeff and Chas. Also we had another local CT shooter (Paul W.) join us for the day of FT shooting. Hope all had a good time at our match.

I shot with Jeff and Brian. Jeff was shooting his first field target match. Brian who shot exceptionally well and I gave him pointers along the way and a lot of encouragement. Chas did really good for his first match. Paul shot a really good score in Hunter as well matching Tom's WFTF score.

Bill and Melissa Day drove all the way from Maine to join us. In addition, Brian made it to match from Newark Airport minutes before starting the match at 10:15 am.

Paul Bishop (custom air rifle stock maker) did visit and chatted with us for a short bit before leaving.
Hope to see Paul get back into shooting FT again especially having a venue less than an hour from his home.

The weather was in the mid 60s. It was comfortable weather with cool breezes but rained briefly for the last 2-3 lanes of the match. It did clear up nicely after the match was done and when the course clean up started.

For the bonus target (a side match), I placed the Paul Porch 2" round paddle only target at 65 yards. Brian got it down twice. I, John, Chas and Jeff got it only once out of three chances. Kudos to Jeff (Novice to field target shooting) who started the match on the bonus target lane and got it on his second shot.

We did have two cold lines for malfunctioning targets on Lanes G and H. Points were given to those targets and scores were adjusted accordingly.

We had one spectator Tony (“tonyl” of Airgunnation). Since Tony had back surgery, he watched and spoke to all of the shooters and got good advice and encouragement. Hope to have him shoot his Marauder rifle on our next match.

Thank you again to all who attended and helped take down the course.

Next match: June 4th Sunday (John Eroh will be designing the course this time)
