The first 3-4 times we' ve come out I had no problem but this year was ridiculous. Obviously something has changed. We drove out the long way too and also noted that the gravel section was better that direction. Ten ply tires are good, another tip I learned is reducing the inflation. Lot of people tend to run them higher for better mileage on the highways. But for gravel roads I think a running them a little low is a better ride and it allows the tire to flex more on the uneven surfaces.
