I think Target signs are VERY useful as they:
1.) Can speed up a match by lowering time spend in target acquisition rituals that many shooters use before sitting down and getting on the timer.
2.) Allow the MD flexibility in changing the order of targets on specific lanes to present the shooter with different challenges, particularly as it pertains to retention of wind info from shot to shot.
3.) Allow more efficient use of terrain at multiple course venues by allowing closer positioning of adjacent targets from different lanes.
Mainly they tell the community that the MD cares by going the extra distance to make the match presentation professional.
WE made some up for a match at the THAGC's Twin Cities location. I used Power Point to set up the file & send the PDF file so generated to Staples. Thirty WFTF spec target cards were printed, laminated with 10 mil plastic, and shipped out for $54. It was very convenient as I designed the file here in Maryland and shipped it to Chris in North Carolina for placement.
