I was squaded with John Ford and I can't remember the older fellows name at this time. Well after five lanes he quit, and John's Indy was shooting water out of the barrel for the first shot after pumping but we got through it. I had a 35 on day ! and shot with Bill rabbit and Will Piat on day two. We were shooting neck and neck until my cocking lug screw decided to back out on my S500. I stil had fun, and at time was 3x over the speed limit on the blue ridge
It's a fun road if you are a fan of driving.
As for what I could, and couldn't see That gator on the pond side, maybe lane 12/13? on day one was a treat for me. I was able to range and recon the target right before the clouds obscured it. I was lucky enough to knock it down once on pure luck, barely able to see it.
I learned a lot that day. I now have a set of frog togg rain gear for FT only, Gators, tall leather boots, an umbrella and gun caddy with tarp cover. They come with me to every match rain or shine.
Oh yeah, the night after day one the hotel room was draped with clothes and gun bags, heat cranked and window open to dry everything out. Anyone else do the same?
