I never could figure out why we shoot the WFTF class here in the US, unless there are those grooming themselves to shoot with the Europeans. I propose;
Open up to 20 FPE. You can use bum bags, stools, bipods, straps, jackets or whatever. Any magnification-you can click or holdover. Hunter guys are just as competitive as Open/ WFTG
WFTF-12 FPE with current rules- for those shooting in international events
Any piston, CO2, or pump pneumatic. Just one class. This is a dying class anyway. Sorry about my inclusion of CO2 and pump pneumatic. I doubt anyone will show up with one, but why not let them shoot to let them get their feet wet?
Pistol-that's a hard one. Not too much of that activity, but I could see having this class. 12 fpe, any scope, any magnification, any pistol.
Beginner? I've seen noobies show up with break barrel springers, Discos, and other lesser guns and have tried to shoot with the rest of us. If they like the sport, they come back next month with better equipment. If dad brings his kid, he usually has the bucks to up the ante with better equipment later. Desire to compete will overrice anything else. Most kids today can't tear themselves away from their electronics anyway. I've seen my grandsons grow up playing baseball and hockey. My daughter has spent more money on sports equipment than you can imagine, and once used, it isn't worth s--t. $150 for a hockey stick or $500 for goalie pads, and you guys are worried about buying a decent air rifle that you can get a good portion of your money back later? I vote to scrap this one.
